To a New Year

Taylor Swift
White Horse lyrics

Say you're sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
And I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
And days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known

[Chorus]
That I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know

[Chorus]
I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

Here you are your sitting there
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I'm sooo sorry

Cause I'm not your princess, this ain't a fairytale
I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
Now it's too late for you and your white horse
Now it's too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it's too late
To catch me now

Tonight I Want To Cry

Here is how I feel today: Thank you for lyrics from Keith Urban

Alone in this house again tonight
I got the TV on, the sound turned down and a bottle of wine
There's pictures of you and I on the walls around me
The way that it was and could have been surrounds me
I'll never get over you walkin' away
(Chorus:)I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings showAnd I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyesTonight I wanna cry
Would it help if I turned a sad song on"All By Myself" would sure hit me hard now that you're gone
Or maybe unfold some old yellow lost love letters
It's gonna hurt bad before it gets better
But I'll never get over you by hidin' this way
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I wanna cry
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with this pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I wanna cry

I am not you but.......

It has been quite a morning so far. Just when I think Reagan has nothing crazy to say.... her little mouth with the two dangling lose bottom teeth opens and out comes these words. I am afraid she has picked up my sense of humor.

Case in point #1: She has an overload of gas right now and is describing it's aroma as dead fish on a bun. Then she let some more go and said "Whooaaa MANNNN, did you smell that one?" (this case in point is in no way reflective of me... see husband on this one)

Case in point #2: Breakfast. The usual discussion. What do you want? I dont know. I say cereal. She comes back with "you always say CEREAL." This morning I replied "I love cereal." Her response: "I AM NOT YOU. I know we were connected by a cord but I am not you."

Ok. How did the umbilical cord come into a breakfast conversation?

Then she makes up these songs. Right now it is the sound of garbage disposal opera. The never-ending grating note.

I will post some pictures when I find the camera of my adventures while unemployed. Political BBQ, Scottish Festival. See ya!

Happy Birthday Aunt Janet!!!

Hip Hip Hurray! or Hurrah. Whatever. And shame on me, Happy Anniversary to my parents yesterday but I know I posted for you last year.

Now let me leave you with a picture that scares the crap out me.

May all your birthdays remind you of little girl tea parties that look like your husband as a child in drag.

So Here I Am

Yesterday, I was thinking "Oh I dont want to go to work tomorrow." Then I remembered, I dont. Funny how our brains condition themselves to our life patterns.

We took my mom out for her birthday. I was running late but so where they so my husband gets stressed. I hadnt finished my makeup and may have experiments a little much with the MAC blue eye shadow.. you know how scary you look when you dont blend in your makeup. Maybe I looked like a clown.. Dont tell anyone but my husband is afraid of clowns. He will deny it but I know it to be true. As I was getting in his car with all four working windows and mirrors, he said something like "Are you wearing your makeup like THAT?" He has never commented on my makeup. I snapped back "I am not finished yet." I need to blenddddddddd.

Reagan and my mom had fun chattering away. My husband and step-dad were having some conversation and I really dont know where I was. Off in la la land.

Sunday, Mr Mom cleaned while this mom sat there. I did run the vacuum once. No I did not do my part, so I think I will clean the bathrooms and the entryway today. Just need to turn on some music or else I will park it on the couch and read. I am very confused right now. I just need all the pieces to fall into place so that I dont have to wonder about the future. I do not have alot of control over the pieces.

When I walked Reagan in to school, I said "I love you baby." I then realized I called her baby. I asked her if it bothered her and she said no, she liked it when I called her my baby. She is the best thing I have ever done.... with help of course from her dad. She is amazing. And I wish I had more patience.

Happy Birthday Stacy. Hope you have a blast.

xoxo

No one likes a tirade

So dont read it. My car did not pass inspection so I am angry. You get different answers, interpretations of the NC regulations depending where you go. This is not the time for bullshit car problems. I need to focus on our daughter and her kindergarten experience. I need to be healthy.. I have been having stomach aches again like I did years ago when I was under alot of stress. I need to focus on having a job by October. But the employment industry is saturated with recruiting agencies. I have one person helping me. I do not want the bs of any other recruiters placing me somewhere I dont belong just so they make their quota for the month.

I am turning into a hermit. I dont want to leave the house in my crappy car. I cant find anything because everything is so disorganized. I never said I was organized. When I was overwhelmed from the messes I made in my youth, my mom was always there to pick up the pieces. My husband keeps certain parts of the house in order but my junk is everywhere as is Reagan's.

I will laugh again. Something made me laugh the other day but I dont remember what it was. I know I am down.... but I am still blessed. I get it. So if I am not on the phone keeping in touch, I dont want to sour you with the zombie that is me. If you need me, let me know and of course I will be here for you. That is a given. I just have to get my life under control. There are too many things that are just out of my control and it throws me off balance. I will wing it as best I can. We are all struggling. Dont get the idea that I am so self centered as to not understand that other people are dealing with obstacles. I know this. I just got to thinking how I havent blogged and where did I get lost? A little life change and I fall apart? Others that I know have it worse than I do. I guess I am angry for feeling sorry for myself because I am a Taurus and we are a proud breed. I sound like a dog.

I watched a disturbing movie today that bothered me. I should have turned it. That is what I get for straying from Disney channel.

Peace and love.. until later.

Happy Birthday Ame!!!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Daddy took Reagan in for her first day of school. I am at my last few days at work until the next one comes along (gig not child). Here are some pictures from the first day.

Honk Honk!

I got little miss ready for daycare.... let her drink sprite for her sore throat and what does she do in return for me? Grabs both of my boobs in honk-honk fashion and announces to her class that Mommy has her fake boobies on today. Padded bra, that is... nothing fake. That girl...... she is one smart cookie but is going to drive me nuts.

wherehaveibeen? and other stuff

Reagansmom has been making friends and enemies. Unless you have an army behind you, DO NOT join forums. Do NOT. Never have I seen so much heated debate on any or all of the following:
childbirth
religion
breastfeeding vs formula
potty training
spanking
discipline
ANYTHING

Goodness people.. go get a job already. If you have time to write dissertations on any of the above, you have too much time on your hands.

Now, back to my life. Reagan has been scared to sleep in her room. I sympathize... I was that girl. And that little girl, sweet little me, burned that room down. So now I hide the matches, the scissors, the candles, the vitamins, the chairs to stand in to reach any of the before mentioned. I know the inside of her mind. But sometimes she surprises me. Case in point:

We decided pet fish in her room would help her sleep by herself. So we went to Walmart Saturday. On the way in, we drove past a very stiff and quite dead deer on the side of the road. So I say to Sean something like "Ok, divert her attention so she does not see the d-e-a-d d-e-e-r." He and I start talking for about 10 seconds and we hear from the back seat "Hey, what were those two legs doing sticking out on the side of the road. Wait, NO, what were those FOUR legs doing sticking out on the side of the road?" I looked over at Sean who was struggling not to laugh because we thought we were so smart. I very calmly said "That was a dead deer that was run over. Deer do not understand that cars can hurt them." She took it well.

I am Bloated and Other Interesting Things

It is not a pleasant feeling to be bloated. Not at all. And then if I recall everything I have eaten, I feel worse. So I say tomorrow is another day. There is no reason to eat all the time.... I need to keep gum with me at all times. What did the hypnosis lady tell me to say "I feel wonderful. I feel calm. I am in control." Ok well all I can bleat out is I FEEL EFFING BLOATED. My own fault.

Here comes the husband. He is stomping and has come home with the red wine and few words for me so I guess it was a long day. Or a bad day. Or maybe he thinks I look fat. Or maybe it is just me. Again, tomorrow is another day.

Well, let me roll on over to the couch. Reagan needs to get to bed early. She has dark circles under her eyes. Not really dark but enough that only a mother would notice because men think we make it up. G'night.

My Skirts Too Tight and I Forgot My Shoes

Not a country song. I ate too many s'mores. And I have to wear flip flops because I forgot my shoes at home. Better shoes than my bra. That I could not handle. Remind me to tell you about Reagan saying the streets are made out of gold in heaven.

A Letter to Myself

Tick, tock all the clocks are ticking. My professional clock is ticking and my biological clock is ticking. Time is dwindling.

I have not posted words in a while. I really have not had much I wanted to write. Many of my bubbles have been burst(ed). Dont have time to look up correct grammatical use. Reagan needs a bath. It is Sunday night. We had gotten ready to go to the pool around 1pm and then came the storm. No pool. Sad. I do not love the pool like I used to when I was younger. Probably because I have to actually get in and get sprayed and bucketed by the playmonster in the childrens area. I cant climb that netted thing to get to the top of the slide. I dont like a bucket of water on my head. And ever since Reagan came home with ringworm, I have wanted to sample the water under the microscope. I see snotty noses, some of them green... would you want to get in the pool seeing that? Swimming in snot and boogers? Is that better than bugs?

I have gotten to an age where I feel like I have a path of many to choose. I am confused. I cant find the humor right now. I feel a little alone and isolated. Work may have something to do with it. We officially merged July 1 so I no longer have a title. One of my co-workers is now under a different manager. Just feels like the door is closing quickly.

I cracked another invisalign tray. Upper this time. Margaret did not make an upper impression on my last visit and had not planned to. Guess I will have to call her and give the good news. I am clenching my teeth all the time now. Darn, I am 30+ and was supposed to be having a baby next month! I know in hindsight, I will eventually understand why that was not to be. But right now, I dont understand why all my plans did not work out how I wanted them. I know that is life.

Funny. I watched Tori and Dean (Tori spelling) and I found myself liking her and her bob hairstyle. I cannot believe I watched it. I scrolled through the TV listing today and I saw GOLF on Channel 3 and then TENNIS on another channel. I cant stand either of them.

I finally hung up some clothes in my closet. They were all over the bedroom floor. But I have mismatched shoes all over the place and you have to be in the mood to work on that. I know I have clothes I need to get rid of. In time.

My mother-in-law came in town Friday. We had neighbors over for dinner and the children watched fireworks from the backyard. I ate alot. Never good. I tried to have my parents come but my mom had to work.

My new camera came in. I need to read the directions. Cant wait. Exciting reading.

Until next time.

A Wonderful Wedding and Karen, the Intoxicated Bridesmaid

Reagan and Morgan (Chickie)

Karen is my dual personality and my first name. The Wedding was beautiful. The bride, my sister in another life, was a stunning bride. The bridesmaids were gorgeous, me I was intoxicated. First, Brians half sister is one of the most talented, level-headed young women I have ever met. She is beautiful and caring and talented. She is really going to be something great some day.

Intoxicated Karen (Southern Kayreen) is not so beautiful. My apologies to anyone who saw that terrible side of me.

I neglected my daughter and husband whom I love more than life. Thank you to you both for being in my life.

I enjoyed seeing many blasts from my past. Life changes so fast and so much. I would post the great pictures I took but I lost my camera.

Tanya's dress was sparkly. I like!!!! Cheers. Diet Ginger Ale is my cheer drink of choice now.

Love to you all. I was honored to be a part of the event. Full circle, ladies. We made it.

Rehearsal Night

The girls were reprimanded for talking during church rehearsal. We have to bow to the cross. But do I bow or curtsy? We sit down at some point and then get up again. Got me. Then we went to dinner. I really thinkg I only had a few beers but it felt like a whole lot. Came home and went to bed. Now I am off for makeup and hair.

Misc Pics: Fathers Day Wedding

MIA: that is me

Why havent I been on the blogger? Been busy posting on mom.charlotte. Got caught up. All my energy that should have gone to blogging went there where I actually had to have interaction with other people. Here I am virtually safe. Ahhhh, back to my zone.

I have had one crazy night but I really dont want to go into it. Needless to say, it only takes 1 second, if even that, for your whole life to change. Just one little thing.....

I am off work today. Tanya's rehearsal dinner is tonight, wedding tomorrow. Wonderful for her!

I am absolutely off-the-charts stressed. Right now, my jaw is so tight I can barely move my mouth (clenching in my sleep). I have been up since 3am. I watched 2 episodes of Instant Star on The N, Noggin for teens or something like that.

There have been many comedic moments with Reagan but I have already told the stories so it is not the same writing about them after the fact. They were good.

We have (had) a bluebird nesting in our newspaper box. I pulled an empty nest out at least three times. Now I feel like a dog because that poor bird was getting ready to lay eggs. The last time I went to throw out the nest, there were 4 little eggs in there. I left it alone. The next time, mama bird was in there. Reagan worked very hard on a sign reading Keep Out, Bird Nesting. I printed her a few pictures of a bluebird and she wanted to tape it inside the box so the mama bird would know what her babies are supposed to look like. She then wrote all our names on it so the bird would know who we were. Then we get home and the nest is on the ground, eggs intact but scattered. I didnt have gloves but I put them back in nest and newspaper box in the hopes that she comes back to take care of her eggs.

So, that is it. My humor will come back later. Lateron!

I Broke My Toe and Reagan Doesnt Want her Hair "Breaded"

Hold your breath. I will fill in the details later. I am trying to keep enough oxygen through my lungs so I dont pass out from the anxiety of Mergerville and job HUNTING. Mergerville, NOT Margaritaville.

Reagan had a pool date Sunday with Josh. I was scurrying to straighten up both my mess and her mess and I ran into the wooden foot of the couch. I did not find out until hours later that Sean heard my toe CRACK. This is the toe I had bunion surgery on a few years ago so I was a little concerned about where the break hit. I went to Urgent Care and had some xrays. Luckily, it broke in a place that should heal in a few weeks and I did not damage my entire foot.

This morning, I was putting the antifungal on Reagan's ringworm (it is almost all gone) and getting the bandaid over it. Her hair seems to get in the cream so I said (in my own made up terminology), "We need to get your hair barretted." I needed to find a barrette to pin her bangs off her forehead. Reagan said "I dont know what you just said but I dont want to hear it again." So of course I had to do the usual "You dont talk to mommy like that. That is rude."

Reagan: "Well, you are not breading and buttering my hair!!!!"
BARRETTE. Doesnt anyone call them that anymore?
So I came back and said "Little girl, I am going to butter your hair and throw you in the oven."
You have to understand that I was really multitasking at this point. Had she put on clean underwear.. did I need to check for a rash... brush her teeth???? She came downstairs with a long sleeved shirt and leggings. I said no way. I told her although it matched to perfection, it was way too hot for her to wear long sleeves and pants. Then she started in on the big eyes and I promise I wont be too hot. I had Sean deal with her. I had to go.

I am stressed. But I am grateful for my beautiful family. Reagan drives me crazy but she has a heart of gold. We said our prayers together last night. I had to divert her because she started going on about something that she wanted, I think. I told her not to pray for things she wants but pray for God to show her the way.... She prays for the entire family line and then some. Stressed but Blessed is my motto.

The Green Dress

I spent one weekend morning at Walmart. I looked through clothes for Reagan. I talked aloud to myself, "She will not wear that, it has an odd kind of design around the bodice. Nope, she wont wear that, it has capped sleeves. She WILL NOT wear these shirts (they look like the ones from Old Navy that we got in a fight about before) I put in the buggy so I will just put them here. Hmm look at all these cute skirts in sizes S and XS. No way, wont fit. Are there no mediums? These look like gypsy dresses but have a weird lace inset on the chest... will she go for that? Hmm the color choices are pink, aqua, and green. We have lots of pink and aqua. I will go for the green dress."

Reagan wore the dress to school Monday with a nice big Spongebob bandage over her ringworm. This morning she told me :

"Landon said I looked pretty in my green dress. So I told him I loved him because he kinda looks like my boyfriend, Josh"

Last night she showed me how everyone loved how her dress swirled. When she swirled really fast, I could see her underwear.........

Friday Night Lights

Two weeks in a row I have taken Reagan to Applebee's on a Friday night. Who knew it was a pick up spot for 5-7 year olds? We sat in an area adjacent to the bar tables. Reagan was saying, "Look mommy, there is a boy. He has blue eyes. Hes kinda cute. Hey you! What's your name? I'm Reagan."
Me: Reagan, hush and eat your food. You have a boyfriend.
Reagan: I know and Josh is who I am going to marry. But I can talk to this boy. and that one and that one.
Goodness. My daughter is an accomplished flirt. The boy, he was 7, told us his mommy is 30 and his dad is 40. Gotta love children. Reagan started to flaunt her Oreo sundae by making all kinds of goofy noises.. ooooh... ahhhh.
So we exit and she says "I bet Josh has already found a cute girl." But she still persists that they will marry.

Just Come On and Burst My Bubble

I sent an email to mostly my lady friends and family about the lady (who does or does not exist, ya know snopes and all that) who had an episode with waxing. I was amazed at how much we sounded alike. Except I dont "fix" dinner ( you fix or repair a car) but even so, I do not prepare dinner (the microwaves gets that credit) and I dont play with my kids (plural, I only have one child and I never call her a kid, thats a goat, right?) So i was discussing with a co-worker, a beloved close friend, and she said "Alot of people write like you do."

Ok, so I knew it. But did it have to show up and just MOON me???? The writing style of course. Why couldnt I just go on believing I was special? My mama thinks I'm "special", well and alot of other things that are not so nice or 100% true. I already admitted to being selfish and semi sorta self centered but only about 50% now that I have my own family. Mother, dont you dare get offended and call me with one syllable responses. This is the MAGICAL part of life where we learn from each other since I am a mother too. And I am meaner than you were. You were not mean. You were a brilliant loving mother. My mother would have given me the shirt off her back. Even in my 20's when I left messages after a night out drinking..... You and Jack raised me and you should be proud. I hope I can make you stronger. I will always love you. But if you move in, all that furniture is not coming. Or that cat.

My best friend is getting married in 22 days. I need to try on my bridesmaid dress again,

Lost focus. Happens.

Wacky Wednesday

YES. I woke up late again. I had Reagan sleeping in a Tinkerbell tshirt that she could match to either of the two pink skirts I pulled for her. I get ready, all that fun stuff. Sean says he can take Reagan to daycare so I can get to work on time. I cant find Reagan.

I hear "Hey, Whoaaa Let's Fire up the Grill" in the scary toy voice like a version of Chuckie. So I know something in Reagans room is causing that thing to talk. I open the door slowly in case a poltergeist is playing with Reagans toys. I check behind the door and there is Reagan fully decked out in Aqua shirt and aqua leggings and huge tears running down her face. She tells me she does not like me. I ruined her "Surprise." She cries for a while.

Later on, I talk to her again and apologize for ruining her surprise. She wants to show me that she is growing up and can do things on her own. This is one time I had to deal with her feelings. To us, its like- whatever get over it. To her, making her own decisions and getting ready all on her own is very important. Now if only I could get her to brush her hair.

NO. I am not a pushover. I pick out the issues that I know will follow her in life and try to diffuse or explain them now. I love my daughter. She amazes me every day.

Earth to ReagansMom

Where have I been? Posting on momscharlotte.com. Actual written communication with other people. The downside to that is you are exposed to other opinions which may actually make you EMOTE. No no no... no emotions here. I must be calm all the time. Too much going to hit the fan come late Summer. But I must not think about it. The upside is, heck yes (who says heck? ewww) I am one funny girl. Sean thinks I am "weird." I told him I was weird(er) when he met me and he knew what he was getting so freaking act like you know what I am talking about. Put an inquisitive look on your face when I talk, not some "Damn, did I marry a idiot?" look that will get you nothing but nuttin. I believe from now on, I will label that look DDIMI (damn did i marry an idiot?) I get it alot. Mostly from men. Women seem to get what I am saying and I think I makes some good points.

Ok, lunch break time. And I just read an email that irritated me so I better log off before I start going into a crazy diatribe.

A Maid?

I have driven Sean to drop the M word. Messy, messy, messy. Maid. We will see where that goes. I cant clean, I cant cook.. what am I good for? I work and I diffuse Reagan. That is alot.

My car is still at Goodyear. I had to leave it there. Expensive work. Coolant leak. Crappy Alero. The Dex-cool eats through things. So now I have a leak in the coolant system. I cant buy a new car right now, so keeping the Alero safe is important. Need a maid for my car too. And my "office." I met some interesting people in the waiting area. The magazine selection was bad. Need to call 800 number.

Now I am stranded at home. Sean escaped and went to the grocery store. Reagan has a friend over and they are supposed to be upstairs watching ET.

So, nothing much new. Or nothing that I feel like expressing at this point. PMS and all.

Friday, Lovely Friday

And here is what is bouncing in my head:

I want to watch the Denise Richards reality show. But the promos are so blah. And the title, It's Complicated. Come on. Lacks grit.

Where is my iPod charger? Why does it come in two pieces? It always comes apart. Sean spent what on an iPhone? What is an iPhone? Does it have something to lock or cover the numbers or is his pocket going to be dialing Africa again?

What all did I order online? What am I waiting on? Dont I have to send back that belt for a new one? Oh my goodness, I have loads of clean clothes all over the bedroom floor. Should I iron them and put them away? I cannot stand ironing.

That was pretty smart of me to notice the bathing suit I bought from Boston Proper went down $20.00 in price. They have a 14 day price guarantee. I am getting a credit!!! But I need some kind of pads to push up the boobs. They are not sitting right. I dont look like the girl in the picture.

I have been sick for three days at least but out of work for 2. Thats a whole nother saga. Um, I have gas in the car. What do I need to do on the way home? I need to see HT specials but I am not going tonight. I owe a fine at library. Pay daycare.

I really need to clean out my car. Need to breathe. Focus. I have to get everything together. I am scattered.

I am F'ing Irritated....................

The weekend.... oh gosh, I could really bore you and go on and on. And I will eventually. Problem is I cant vent or I may hurt feelings. This is my life. I am lucky, except for the hormonal imbalance and other offs. I am happy, I am angry. How can you be both at the same time? The computer is not recognizing the printer so I have been unable to upload pictures. The topics I may or may not discuss when I get it all together: Highlights, IHOP, Reagan's Daycare Graduation, Where's Waldo, Weirdos, Stepfords (wives and husbands), exercise what?, job hunt, odor coming out of the sink, clothes...... I am not with it. I am still on a mission to find my purpose. I am just me. Strong but weak, Happy but sad, Secure but insecure, logical yet dazed. So welcome to my life.

Mother's Day, the Countdown to Mayhem

As I sit here at 7 am Sunday morning in my pink fluffy robe, wild bedhead hair, chewed up dental trays, I ponder upon the smell coming from overhead. I have absolutely no sense of direction or spatial perception. I wonder if the office/sunroom is directly under the laundry room. I tried to map it in my head to no success. Either way, kitty cat Harley seems to have left us some presents in the laundry room. He leaves poop piles right in the entryway as you open the door. Many times the door skims over the pile. I always look first, my husband does not. I still have him (Harley not Sean) on the special high protein diet of expensive order-online only cat food. He does not seem to be in pain anymore but he poops wherever he feels like it. I have bought new litterboxes, cleaned them, tried keeping them far away from where he eats. I read the websites about feline behavior, put alum foil in the living room and many citrus smelling cotton balls. He just covered his poop with the alum foil or cotton balls.

Yesterday.... thought I would use my last tanning appt to get it over with. I had the great idea to hit Beauty Brands first to pick up some Brocato volumizing creme and maybe a lotion for the tanning bed. I was in a hurry to get there and to the tanning place and to Target all within a certain time frame. Point: I did not put on any makeup. I took one look in the mirror at Beauty Brands and started hitting the tester makeup. So that blew some time. I could not find a shampoo I wanted to try. The only indoor tanning lotion was on clearance. I was hesitant to make the purchase since it contained a "tingler" or bronzer. Tingler hence your skin tingles (burns like hell). The magic word that made me buy it was Clearance 65% off. Went tanning right after with my new bottle of lotion. Thought I was going to burst into flames in the tanning bed. Came out and looked like a fire victim. I was desperately grasping for ideas to calm down my skin so I could get to Target without looking like a total freak. I tried soap, baby wipes, lotion, then calming lotion and took an antihistamine for good measure. Took about an hour for my skin to return to normal.

I spent hours at Target and I cannot remember why. Oh yeah.... looked at clothes, shoes, belts, jewelry, color ink cartridges, movies, art supplies, towels, pool floatation devices, sunscreens, hats, makeup, cleaning supplies, then finally childrens clothes.

I came home and took Reagan to the pool. She listened the first 30 minutes or so. She stayed in the play area for children. Then she put on her vest and promised me should would not go past a certain point that started the deep end. I told her not to go into the big pool. I was sitting over closer to the childrens area with the slide and Reagan decided to rebel and venture out into the big pool. I gestured for her to return to the small pool. She ignored me and headed to the very deep end. I got up, marched over to the deep end and told Miss Priss to get out the pool, we were going home. She said no she was not getting out. Well, I wasnt getting in. I threatened and she cried and promised she would listen. I said no, you dont get a second chance on this one. She threw a full on tantrum and would not climb up the ladder to get out. A mother in the deep end offered to send her up to me. So I pulled her out of the pool kicking and screaming. I gathered up all our stuff and picked her up as she hit me. She weighs about 57 lbs now so none of this was easy. She fought me the entire walk home. Even the word walk is an exaggeration. I had to drag her home. As I recanted the story to Sean, Reagan decided to hit me. Sean sent her to her room where she cried and begged to come out. I think I am pretty mean and scary. Why is she testing me? Sean yells and most of the time she listens. I yell and she either just cries or talks back. Ughhh. SO HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ME.

Well, better go get ready so I can get out early and return the Speedo floatation thing Reagan wont wear and then the "tingler" (fire) lotion for refunds. All in a day's work. But first, I think I will sit down to a game or two (hundred) of Solitaire on the iPod. Happy Mothers Day to all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANYA!!!!!!!

Dear Diary

Dear Diary:
I do not think anyone is reading this so I will just lay out my heart. Yeah, whatever. After the Invisalign trays, you get essex trays or something like that. Basically, you get a mouthful of mixture to make a model and then they make plastic trays to fit your teeth. Well, I did it again. This time, I cracked not one tray but TWO. I have been clenching my teeth so much that I cracked the plastic that fits around all the back molars. Can you imagine how much enamel I wore down before I had the trays? Really, probably an inch. Not one dentist told me I had a problem until about 3 years ago. I did not know you could clench your teeth so much that it would wear away the surface.

Reagan, Reagan. I tried to do a Jedi mind thing on her and make her think she had picked out her own clothes. It didnt work. She started to cry and remind me that I told her she could pick out her own clothes. Ok fine. I had an alternate plan/outfit so I just let her choose. She wants to make her own choices. I will allow it to a degree. But no hooker shoes today.

Pool opens this weekend. Cant wait. Cant wait to stuff myself in whatever bathing suit I can find and cry when I look in the mirror. I wont cry. Just kidding about that. I will just go online and look for a freaking scuba suit. Whose fault is it that I look terrible in a bathing suit? Mine and Mother Nature's. I refuse to take all the blame. I can only multitask so much. Exercise just took a back seat.

Speaking of which, Reagan really wants a booster seat. I dont have a shoulder belt in the backseat middle and I really dont want to put her by the door. Safest seat is back middle. I will have to think about it. I sure am hungry. Growl stomach, GROWLLLLLLL ... makes me feel like Im getting skinny. Yeah, and malnourished. Hope my friend who is a psych for eating disorders is not reading today. She is too busy. She wont read this one. No I dont have an eating disorder, I have a personality disorder. It is called being a semi-insecure female heading so close to middle age.

Reagan, My Literal, Logical, Loveable, Laughtrack

Dear Readers:
I have tried to submit my blog as a really, really rough manuscript but the publishers want me to print it and mail it. They receive so many silly requests from people like me to read their blogs online.

To the point. I sauntered into the Sea Shells, Sea Turtles, Sand Shells room for 4-5 yr olds. I cannot for the life of me remember what her room is called. I think it starts with an S. Anyway, her teacher had her hand over her mouth with a story for me. I asked "Ok, what did she say today?"

Picture this: A funeral procession at Woodlawn. A somber affair. They ask that the children not play on the playground out of respect during processions. Switch to my child's face, in a big pout, lips out, little wet hen angry eyes, arms crossed. Conversation...

Ms Alma: "We cant play on the playground since there is a funeral."

Reagan (thinks a few seconds, screws up face) "Ms Alma, WHY cant we play on the playground.? He's already dead!"

Ms Alma : "When there is a funeral, we have to show respect."

Reagan "BUT HE IS dead. So why cant we play on the playground? He wont know."

Later on, maybe an hour. Ms Alma is reading a story and Reagan interrupts "I still dont understand why we cant play on the playground. It doesnt make any sense. What is a funeral anyway?"

Ms Alma told me she tried to explain as best she could. Then Reagan started asking what a boyfriend was and marriage. Life is so simple when you are young. How does it get so mixed up?
