I dont get it
I am still learning how to organize my posts and pictures. Right now, it is all over the place. I have added some pictures. Some old, some new. I know you will be fascinated by the ones of my teeth. I only took those to take to the ortho to show what I see (and what I see is some long teeth, some short teeth, and some gaps). I have been wearing Invisalign since February. The two little teeth beside the big teeth have krept up higher over the years, I think they are trying to escape. Those lovely suckers ended up needing brackets. I was a little embarrassed at first. But now I am over it.
Today was the usual with Reagan. She didnt want to wear the very pretty and comfortable shirt I had picked out and ironed (if you know me, you know I do not iron) for her. "It's not beautiful," claims Reagan. And she wanted a curl left hanging in her face (like some brown haired Barbie at school) but with a small ponytail and then pig tails all in the same hairdo. I told her I could leave some curls but that was it. We had to leave.
I will try to organize all this later.

Reagan, The Arteest
Reagan drew a picture of a rainbow on an orange piece of construction paper. She added a sun, a dog, some other creature (person, animal?), and some waves under the rainbow. She took it to her new teacher this morning, Miss Alma. Reagan said looking at her picture made her want to cry because it was so beautiful. There lies the heart of a true artist.

Do-Re-Meatball
On our lovely rides home on 77 and 485 from daycare, Reagan and I will sing songs or talk. I began teaching her Do-Re-Me-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do. What she got out of it was Do Re Meatball. We are still working on it. She has "What Time is It" from High School Musical 2 down pat. Now I know you are thinking I am a bad mother for letting her watch TV. But here is my theory: High School Musical 2 teaches teamwork, singing , and dancing. How can she go wrong?
Children have memories like elephants. They retain all the things you do not want them to and almost none of what you would like. Here is what Reagan said yesterday:
"Mommy, remember when you gave me that enema.... ( I knew what was coming next but I hoped she had forgotten), you said you would buy me that Hannah Montana costume and the shoes with the wheels."
I said," Yes but it is reallly expensive so Mommy has to go to work and make money."
Reagan, "Ok, I can wait. But not for too too long."
I ordered the Hannah Montana costume today. Forget the Heely's with the wheels. That is not happening.
Tuesday, on the way in to school, Reagan talked on her pretend princess cell phone to her imaginary friend (she has one named Krist and I am not sure of the other), she was talking away..." Yeah girl, I know what you mean. Hello? Hello? (Flips the phone closed), Damn it, I lost the call."
I turned on the mommy voice : "Reagan, we dont say that."
Silence. Except for the roar of traffic at 6:45am.
I peek in the rearview mirror and see a pouty face.
Then the real tears start. I am confused, I did not yell so why is she crying? I ask and here is what I get:
Reagan, "It was an accident mom, I forgot. I was just trying to talk like a mommy."
I felt about 2 inches tall. I explained that mommy does not always use intelligent words but that she should not copy me. Five minutes later, I needed to get in the right lane as to not miss the exit to 77 from 485 and I could not get over because a big white SUV would not speed up or slow down to let me over. The "Mommy" word popped out before I could stop it.
I will continue to work on it.

Wear the bow already!
Friday, Ame and Sophia came over and we all trekked to the pool. Sophia seemed to like me but was having none of that hovering Reagan. I think Reagan got too close to Sophia's personal space. Sophia is a year old and a cutie-pie. Ame had her decked out in a scuba suit. Just kidding, it was a long-sleeved swimsuit.
Anyway... the bow already. Reagan and I have this battle over her hair. I will post some lovely pictures later of my attempts at hair-do's for Reagan. She wants to wear her hair down. I tell her that she looks like her daddy in drag with her hair down. Please let Mommy put this pretty bow in, I beg. Sometimes I get away with it. But not often. And then the barettes and bows mysteriously disappear..... Reagan says "Well, I put them in my cubby (at school) and then I dont know what happens to them."
Yeah right. There once was a mystery over the aqua bow that matches a few of her outfits. She could not tell me what happened to it. She checked her pockets, the cubby, the classroom. The next day, one of her daycare friends told me Reagan "accidentally" dropped it in the toilet. I did confirm this with her teacher. It "fell" in the toilet and had to be thrown away. Reagan said her memory was bad and she forgot.
Last funny and then I need to eat something for lunch. Reagan yelling down the stairs to Sean: " Daddy, please come close the bathroom door. It scares me and I have a little heart."
Now where did that come from?????????????????????????????????????????????

Reagan and the Drama
I never did get my hair done last weekend. The AC was out at the salon so I have been rescheduled. It is not pretty.
Monday, I was able to drop Reagan off at daycare and leave her all day long. Tuesday, I just knew the phone call was coming. This time, I had been at work for all of 25 minutes and I saw that number on the Caller ID. I thought for sure I had at least an hour or two. So Miss Priss had a runny nose and a stopped up backside. I could already envision that last time I had to chase Reagan around the house with a suppository. I did not realize they were painful, she did not make a peep when she was a baby. Now that she is older and can talk, she tells me quite colorfully how it feels. I will never give her a suppository again. The enema is a little better. Got one on hold for her tonight.
So anyway, yesterday was a nightmare. Reagan was in pain and I could not help her. I tried bribery. I told her if she went potty, I would buy her something. But that did not work. All in all, by the end of the day, she was a little better.
This morning, she found her Care Bear umbrella in the car. I saw her scrunch up her eyes, fold her hands, and pray to God that it would rain so she could use her umbrella.
Reagan and I will be home tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow is car repair day. Friday we may have some friends over. We will see.

It is Saturday
So another 6 weeks have passed and it is time for my highlights and cut. Sean thinks this is a luxury for me but really.... sitting patiently for over an hour having tin foil wrapped in little pieces all over my head?????? And then sitting under a hot dryer looking like the Alien from Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil World? To me, it is just an obligation. Sure, I could choose to go natural and then the complaints would start rolling in. Well not really complaints but, you know, the comments that are not quite compliments but you still say "Thank you" because you dont know how to respond. They go like this:
1. Co-worker: "Hmmm, your hair looks different."
Me: "Thank you."
2. Co-worker: " Your hair looks so brown now."
Me: " Thank you????"
3. Friend: " So you are going for the mousy look. Wow!"
Me: "Thank you?"
4. Husband: "I thought you were going to do something with your hair."
Me : (The Look but no comment)
And so on. So that will take up 3 hours of my day. Sean and Reagan are going to Chuck E Cheese. I will have to remind him to take kleenex because she has the green runny stuff coming out of her nose. She is also repeating herself over and over so she can hear how stopped up she sounds. The coughing started last night. Boy that coughing must put some pressure on her belly because every time she coughs..........
The Cat from Hell is locked up in the laundry room. Just kidding, Harley is a sweet cat but he is upstairs in the laundry room until he can stop pooping on the living room floor. I have invested quite a bit of money in the High-Protein-Natural Rabbit canned cat food. So far it has not been recalled, so that is good. It seems to have helped his digestive pain. I dont hear all this terrible cat screaming when he is in the litterbox. The bad thing is I can no longer hear if he is going outside the litter box since he is not screaming. The vet says the high carb cat food causes IBS. Guess that is true for people diets too.
What a fun post today. I hope you enjoyed it. This is my life and I would not trade it for anything... snotty noses and pooping cats are just part of the package.

Lunchtime
So far, so good. No phone calls. I had planned on watching a movie during lunch but the adapter to plug it in is picky. It turns on, turns off, on, off. So I ate my frozen lunch, read up on Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) to find out if Billy Ray's wife is her real mom. Welcome to the world of the mother to a 4-year old girl. You know the cool person you used to be (????) no longer exists when you are anxiously awaiting the next new episode of Hannah Montana or you find yourself googling for Hannah Montana pajamas. (NOT FOR ME!!!)
Last month, I spent too much money on Krypto the Superdog action toys on Ebay. I guess it is the guilt of working all day and leaving Reagan at a place where she can play all day with friends. I should not feel guilty. She is having a blast (except for that nasty cold I sent her off to school with). Ok so maybe it is more the guilt that I do not have the imagination to play with her. I am too busy being a grown up and have lost all ability to make Polly Pocket have a conversation. Speaking of which, that Polly Pocket is dangerous. Have you seen how small the parts are??????????????? My Dyson is probably full of Polly parts.
Time to wrap up. Work calls.

Caller ID at work and the dreaded call from.....
Daycare. The teachers all call you Mom- guess that is easier than knowing your name. So here it is "Mom, Reagan is not feeling so well. She did not eat again today and she is just laying around."
Me: (Silence... what do I say??? It is month end and I am in the middle of closing entries and getting everything ready for financial statements) "Ummm, does she have a fever?"
Teacher: " No but I thought I would call you and let you know she is not feeling well."
Me: (Silence... um does that mean I can leave her there??) "Ok, well let her take her nap and call me if she gets worse."
So we hang up the phone and I have visions of her poor little tonsils swelling even more while she sleeps and her breathing stopping. I talk this over with some coworkers and we all agree that shouldn't happen. I call her nurse and schedule an appointment. Then I sweat through 2 1/2 hours of work until I leave to pick her up daycare and take her to the doctor.
So she basically has a cold, no Strep, no ear infection. That is good. I guess I will drop her off at school again tomorrow and watch when the phone rings at work and cross my fingers that it is not daycare.
What do you feed a sick child? I fed her a popsicle. WELL she would not eat anything hot so that ruled out toast and soup. I only had Banana flavored Shrek yogurts left and she wanted Strawberry. You know? I was working and I think I remember her little voice asking for toast too. Ooops, guess I forgot. Here she comes......too funny... she just came in asking for that toast. I better get up and get it ready.
Here is to my fun and exciting life.
