I cant explain it. Sometimes my heart hurts. Not physically. Why do we say our hearts hurt or are broken? There are times when I feel empty. Empty but still thankful and grateful for all that I have. I had a hard time over the weekend. Getting motivated to do anything. I woke up in the middle of the night and watched movies. "The Groomsmen", "10 Things I Hate About You" (that one especially hurt because I have always liked Heath Ledger and his death, as are all deaths , is tragic), then "The Number 23." The latter was weird and not something Jim Carrey should be doing.
Blah, blah, blah. We went to Chilis which was sort of fun. Other than that I ran errands and wasted money.
Nothing much else to write. Work to do.

Garbage and Me

This song is partly (mostly) me (and others in padded cells). I laugh(cackle). I do like a spot of rain and a dollop of dreary.
Im Only Happy When it Rains by Garbage:
Im only happy when it rains
Im only happy when its complicated
And though I know you cant appreciate it
You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
Im only happy when it rains
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me
Im only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
Im only happy when it rains
I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didnt accidentally tell you that
Im only happy when it rains
Youll get the message by the time Im through
When I complain about me and you
Im only happy when it rains
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me pour your misery down
You can keep me companyAs long as you dont care
Im only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
Im riding high upon a deep depression
Im only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
Im only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
Im only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
Im only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
Im only happy when it rains

Reflections of a Miscarriage and Other Things
This is not one blog I am going to email out to friends and family. But this is me and the point of my blog is to express myself about my roles as a mother, friend, wife, girl, daughter, etc. I have had one rough weekend physically. Mentally, I have been pretty stable except for the need to buy things. Things to me are not large expensive items, they are socks, paper towels, air fresheners (big problem with garbage can that holds empty cat food cans), razors (to shave my legs not cut my wrists), mascara, etc. Little things that somehow make me feel better especially once my legs are somewhat smooth and the garbage can does not smell like a decaying old lady. Of course, my husband's comment about the garbage can in the laundry room is how would I know if it smells, I never wash clothes. I know he says these things with only his undying love in mind for me. It is true, I do not wash clothes on a regular basis. I wait until neither Reagan or I have a thing to wear so I can complain that we have nothing to wear. I do not know if I wait until the last minute to wash and clean so I can complain that I have too much to do or if I just block it out until I have to take action.
This goes way back. I remember my mother telling me " Do not set your glass (of coke) on your nightstand, it ruins the wood. How many glasses can you fit on your nightstand before you take them to the dishwasher? " Now, I say those same things to Sean and Reagan. Me, for some reason I do not like to drink out of glasses anymore so it is bottles of water or cans for Diet Coke. I don't know. How hard is it to put a glass in the sink or dishwasher? Not hard at all, I think in life we chose our battles and our (my) battle is with taking dirty dishes and putting them away. Sean is very good at keeping the kitchen clean. Me, it comes in spurts. Most of the time, my eyes gloss over and I keep on going.
I know none of this writing is cohesive. Just rambling for my own sanity. Cheaper than a therapist. When our house is clean, it is beautiful. We still have not completely decorated all areas after almost two years. It takes time and alot of thought. I am not a trained designer but I think I have a feeling for what feels comfortable. But it takes me a very long time to make a decision and I do not pay full price. I cannot, I know I can get a better deal.
Speaking of full price and deals. I do not know how to deal with a car dealership. I may see what books are out there on the subject. Here is my dilemma. There is always the lure to luxury vehicles. But unless I am getting in on deep discount at a Police Drug/Dealer Seized Auto auction sans-blood and ghosts, I cannot say I would feel comfortable going that route. Luxury vehicles says to me (and on the tired day, they may speak to me) that you have to make a statement and keep up with the Jones'. On the other hand, they could say that you have made an accomplishment and are rewarding yourself. But are you? I go back and forth. Would I drive an Escalade? No. And no offense but it is not me. I always associate Cadillac with old people. Would I drive a Mercedes? Only if I had a Mercedes connection or if it were a gift. I would buy a car within my price range that would not break the bank that rated very high on the Govt Safety tests as far as highway safety. Before Reagan, I drove a Mits Eclipse out of my price range, cute for my age, but not practical for a car seat or other passengers. But it was a fun car.
My Alero is paid off. The windows are unreliable, the car as well. But it drives and right now, it is ok for what we need. It is dirty but I am not trying to make a statement. I am not in a job that requires I impress people. And really, I would not want to be. Life is about who you are. FIRST impressions are important because they establish your character. Believe me, I have made many bad first impressions. I do not like small talk. If I am interested in talking to you, I want to know you right away. Not your secrets and dreams but who you really are not who you are trying to be. Other people are more cautious about revealing themselves. I must learn to filter a little.
Miscarriage. To act as if I am the only woman going through this is selfish. It is not like I thought it would be. I thought it would be like a normal cycle. It was not, it is not. It is painful, scary, confusing, lonely, interesting, neurotic. My doctor and his nurse (as well as the answering service, the pharmacist, and the lady at David's Bridal) have been very supportive sympathetic through my ordeal. Although "all" you are losing is blood, it feels like a lot more; a heart, a soul, a what-could-have-been. That is all I can say about it for now. No one wants to read this. But I will read it years from now and remember.
The more I write, the less I am motivated to keep doing so today. I feel like online browsing. No more miscarriage boards. The stories are all similar except some are grieving quite a bit. The could have been scenario to me is fading to what is not going to be. Why waste time on what could have been when I am living in what is. Reagan wants to work on art and learn to play the recorder. I need to examine the dishwasher and work on the kitchen, then catch up on my career work. So this is it until I feel like expressing anything else.

You Cant Keep a Good Woman Down
Literally I guess you could if you sat on her. Anyway. I knew I had some great friends. Thanks for calling, emailing and being concerned. You have all been so considerate. I am glad today is a snow day. I needed it. I was not feeling so well through the night and this morning. Mentally, yes; physically, no. But blah blah blah. Enough already.
I called David's Bridal yesterday to speak with alterations (I knew this was a bad idea.. they do not speak English well). If you were not aware, I am a bridesmaid in my best friend, Tanya's, wedding this Spring/Summer. I went last weekend to order the dress. I thought maybe I should wait to try them on after my dr appt this week but I was worried about time constraints and went ahead in. I would have been around 30 weeks pregnant so I had to order a dress to go with that. I asked alteration lady if they could pare down a big size to a much smaller size since I will not be pregnant or at least not that far along. She not know, call store. I chickened out and was like forget it. I will just spend the money for alterations. But I did call the store today and spoke with a nice lady. I told her the situation and she immediately told me should would change the size. Turns out she had three miscarriages of her own and then three healthy babies. We women usually sympathize with each other. Women's intuition and empathy are two amazing gifts most women have unless they have high testosterone levels. Really, I am not kidding. Women who act more like men are not as intuitive or empathetic. Not slamming men in the least. Sometimes we would rather ignore that intuition.
Subject change. I never can transition well in subject changing. Reagan and I went out once today but it was raining. She wanted to make snow angels and I voted no. She cried in her sleep throughout the night. Her feet were hot, her throat was dry, her nose was stuffy and she was overall uncomfortable. She has a head, maybe chest cold. No way is she making snow angels and getting all nasty wet. The snow is rain slush at best.
I took some pictures today but I look weird. The "glow" is gone and I am not imagining it. I might have a few of Reagan fluttering around but she does these weird poses like back from Regency times "Girl striking pose looking off in the distance as if she is searching for a ship in the night," or "Girl in a kneeling position begging for food." I cannot get her to take a normal picture.
Thought I would be reading the Ann Rule nonfiction murder book. Instead I have been playing Solitaire on the Ipod. Again. I am getting ready to head back over there. Lovely, looks like Scooby Doo is coming on. Until next time.....

Saying Goodbye
Obviously the doctor visit for baby did not go well today. Little one did not have a heartbeat so she is trying to leave. To all my friends and family, I am ok. When the glass is half empty, you are SEMI prepared for these things. You are never prepared to say goodbye. We will just try again and I am optimistic for the future. Thank you for all your love and support.
'An Angel wrote in the book of life, my baby's date of birth. Then whispered as she closed the book 'Too beautiful for Earth'
A MOTHER HAS A BABY, THIS WE KNOW IS TRUE.
BUT GOD, CAN YOU BE A MOTHER, WHEN YOUR BABY'S NOT WITH YOU?
YES, YOU CAN, HE REPLIED WITH CONFIDENCE IN HIS VOICE.
I GIVE MANY WOMEN BABIES, WHEN THEY LEAVE IS NOT THEIR CHOICE.
SOME I SEND FOR A LIFETIME; AND OTHERS FOR A DAY
AND SOME I SEND TO FEEL YOUR WOMB; BUT THERE'S NO NEED TO STAY.
I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS, GOD, I WANT MY BABY HERE.
HE TOOK A BREATH AND CLEARED HIS THROAT; AND THEN, I SAW A TEAR.
I WISH I COULD SHOW YOU, WHAT YOUR CHILD IS DOING TODAY.
IF YOU COULD SEE YOUR CHILD SMILE WITH OTHER CHILDREN AND SAY.
"WE GO TO EARTH TO LEARN OUR LESSONS OF LOVE AND LIFE AND FEAR,
MY MOMMY LOVED ME OH SO MUCH, I GOT TO COME STRAIGHT HERE...
I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE A MOM, WHO HAD SO MUCH LOVE FOR ME
I LEARNED MY LESSON VERY QUICKLY, MY MOMMY SET ME FREE.
I MISS MY MOMMY OH SO MUCH; BUT I VISIT HER EACH DAY.
WHEN SHE GOES TO SLEEP, ON HER PILLOW IS WHERE I LAY
I STROKE HER HAIR AND KISS HER CHEEK, AND WHISPER IN HER EAR.
MOMMY, DON'T BE SAD TODAY, I'M YOUR BABY AND I'M HERE."
SO, YOU SEE, MY DEAR SWEET ONE, YOUR CHILD IS OKAY
YOUR BABY IS HERE IN MY HOME; AND THIS IS WHERE SHE'LL STAY.
SHE WILL WAIT FOR YOU WITH ME, UNTIL YOUR LESSON IS THROUGH
AND ON THE DAY THAT YOU COME HOME; SHE'LL BE AT THE GATES FOR YOU.
SO, NOW YOU SEE WHAT MAKES A MOTHER, IT'S THE FEELING IN YOUR HEART
IT'S THE LOVE YOU HAD SO MUCH OF; RIGHT FROM THE VERY START.

QUICK, Before I have a Mood Swing
I have to hurry before, Karen (pronounced southern KAYREEEEN), my alter ego takes over. She is not too nice. I have yet to download pictures from last Friday night engagement gathering at Dixie's. Hell did not freeze over. I made it in the door. My photo was not plastered on the KEEP OUT board. How times change. Sean and I twiddled our thumbs until the party arrived. I sent him on many trips to the bartender to refill my flat Diet-Pepsi. He was embarrassed to be ordering diet drinks instead of Big Man beer. Well, what the pregnant wife wants, wife gets. To a degree. I checked my watch about 15-25 times. Ok, ok, we have to leave by such and such time so that Charee can get to sleep... she has two of her own add Reagan and boy do I feel guilty.
Funny thing was we were not the only "party" that night. Three were going on at the same time. A birthday, ours- the Tanya and Brian engagement, and a Young Socials (aka desperate singles society) party. When all the engagement party finally arrived, you could see the Young Socials eyes light up. FINALLY, this was the night they dreamed of. All these beautiful blondes show up and the socials think they are there to mingle with the single society. Sorry boys.... all are married, pregnant, or engaged.
Anyway, we got in all the conversations we could at a bar with a band playing and smoke drifting through our noses, hair, clothes, teeth. Ok so I am a non-smoker and it shows. Great to see old friends. Fun times. But clock struck 9:20 and we had to go.
I expected Reagan to be laying down watching TV when we stopped to pick her up. I looked through the window pane I saw a brown-headed Blue Sequined Mermaid flittering through the house. Hmm. Reagan was nowhere near sleeping. We packed her stuff that she had to take with her and loaded up and went home. The End.

Reagan's Little Prayers
"Mom, you want to hear a prayer?"
"Sure." (We were in the car on the way to school. I slept only four hours so that is all the enthusiasm I could muster)
"Ok, Dear God. Thank you for my mommy and daddy. Please make sure the baby is healthy and safe. We dont care if it is a boy or girl but daddy wants a boy. God bless Grandma, Nana. Papa Jack, Harley, all my friends, Brianna and Miss Charee. Please keep everyone safe. "
Then she broke out in "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep." She is good. She has The Lord's Prayer down pat. I was stuttering to keep up.

Ramblings...............

So many thoughts fighting to come out. I just got back from my short adventure walking around the track at the Panther's Practice Field. Had my new IPOD going, started at a slow walk. Hey, there's the same guy I saw walking last year , wonder if he continued with the routine when I stopped. He appears to be the type of person who does the same thing at the same time every day. One of which is avoid eye contact and never smile. WHOAAA, here comes a mommy with a baby jogger. I politely climb (scramble, gracefully hobble) up in the bushes so she can get by...Here she comes with that baby jogger, baby must love running with mom. Well darn, I am confused, there is no baby in the jogger, no baby at all. Does she think there is one? Should I tell her she is missing her baby and might want to go back and look for it? Is she practicing for a Mommy baby jogger marathon? She might want to add a pumpkin or something in there for added weight. Speaking of pumpkins, I found Reagan's little pumpkin from October all rotted and smelling just yummy at the bottom of my passenger seat floor board. I wondered where that smell was coming from.
Back to the walk. After a few minutes, I really started shaking my backside, not to pick up men (I am a married woman!!! Shame on you for thinking any different), BUT(t) to shake some of that cellulite off of my backside. I figure if I shake it enough when I walk, something will tone up or I will knock a hip out of joint. Sitting here in this chair all day is doing nothing but allowing it to spread into middle-aged rumpitis.

All over the place I am of course so WARNING, change in subject. Reagan, bet you never guessed. One conversation... I interrupted her and she said "Mommy, you made me lose my mind." (I think I may hear that alot around my house but muttered under a masculine breath and not the cat) my guess is I made her lose her thought. Losing her mind comes later in life, around puberty (boys), around twenties(boys), thirties(still boys), forties, menopause, etc.
Reagan again: She cleaned up her room (granted, I cannot find some of her clothes now) but it looked really good. She told me that Santa and God would be so proud of her. How she linked the two, I don't know.
Last night, after many bouts of hormonally induced yelling at hard-of-hearing princess (reagan, not sean), she proceeds to tell me that she knows I mean what I am saying when I talk softly but when I yell I don't mean a word of it. WHAT am I? A psychologist? A mind reader? The things that come out of her mouth scare me. Not really scare me but her logic is growing and pretty soon I wont be able to get away with some of my lame answers.
She has an Interactive US Presidents game that Sean is coaching her on. I took one look at that thing and said "Sean, who are some of these people, I have never heard of them." I hate history. I am sure I passed the Presidents test with flying colors and then gone it was. I do not care. I hate science too. Blah Blah Blah and Geography. I am like that pageant girl and Kellie Pickler when it comes to Geography. I know where NC and SC are on the United States map, hey Texas too but that is about it. Florida is easy.
Note for the day: IF you have TEN or fewer items at the grocery store, get out of my lane while I am juggling a cart full of groceries and a 4 year old picking her nose and go to the EXPRESS LANE. I am not letting you in front of me no matter how much you sigh and shake your few items. MOVE ON my friend, the Express Lane is calling your name.
