FABBBULOUS, FICKLE FOURS!!

Then today, Reagan is on her best behavior. No tantrums and it is 6:15 pm. She dressed herself this morning, listened on the way to school and listened on the way home. Maybe yesterday was just a bad day.

Anyway, besides that, Hell must have frozen over. My boss has been home sick for two days. She has been sick maybe one day in the past six years. For her to stay out of work is really something. Work has been a zoo. My head has been spinning. Fire here, fire there, fix this, fix that, pay this, pay that, where is this, where is that???? Maybe I will write a grown up version of Dr Seuss verses about work. But who would read it?

We are camping out tonight. (please, you know me better than to think I would even sleep outside) I have the aerobed downstairs, that is our version of camping out. I turned on the pumpkin lantern thing so it is almost like roughing it. Ha Ha. Roughing it is when the power goes out.

Speaking of which, and I am sorry to change subjects so abruptly, but i just had a memory. Few and far between. When we had the ice storm in December 2002, I think it was. I was 30 weeks pregnant and the power was out for days. I was so miserable. We had the gas fireplace so that worked and a radio. The only station we got was some AM station, a freaky odd AM station. I was "eyes wide open" in the middle of the night and the conversation on the radio was about aliens (like ET not like across theBorder). People were calling in and talking about Aliens coming in their bedroom through the walls and through the chimney. They sounded quite serious. I was really scared and then the gas fireplace was not looking so good anymore. I have had one dream about an alien spaceship and it was so real feeling. I know my grammar is just beautiful tonight. Dont let me dwell on the aliens. I will start digging an underground hide-away if I dwell.

If you are reading this, I really am sorry you are subjecting yourself to this rambling post. I think I am getting sick, I feel light headed so that is my excuse. Getting ready to go rough it in front of the Big Man Plasma HD TV and watch cartoons in all their glory. I think I used to have a life. Ok so I have one now, just different. There is nothing on TV I want to watch anyway. I have no shows I like. Nothing. Any suggestions? I am not into reality TV. I see that crap everyday when I walk out the door.. why would I want to watch it on TV?

Going to the dentist tomorrow. Hope they take off the braces. Getting silly....looking. See ya!

FRUSTRATING FOURS!!!

2's were not terrible, 3's were and now 4's are absolutely frustrating. I am an introvert by nature as is Sean. Reagan is an extrovert. Being an introvert means that I gather my energy from within myself, I do not get it from being around other people. Extroverts feed off the energy of others. Pysch Babble 101.....Anyway, point is.... I am plain worn out. Dealing with tantrums, negotiating (which sometimes you have to do), dealing with more tantrums, dealing with hyperactivity at odd times .......... What kind of mother am I???????????????????????????

I love my daughter with all my heart. She is so smart. But she drives me CRAZY. She is sucking out all my energy. We had to drop some books off at the library.. she had that look in her eyes so I knew we were not going in. She wanted to go in and get some books (I know, great..good, she wants to read.. why wouldn't I take her in?) The library was crowded and I did not want to go in. Last time, Reagan moved all the Vote Here signs. So she started screaming about wanting to go in. No way, I said. Not with that behavior. As I was putting the 11 books in the outside bin, I hear this screaming from my car (which I am right beside); "I HATE YOU MOMMY!" Now isnt that every parents dream? I thought I had at least 10 more years before that started up. She cried the rest of the way home.

She has already been in time out for playing in the pantry when I told her to get out. She was playing with the canned vegetables and told her one could fall and break her toe (it really could, I know someone this happened to). She did not listen. So I put her in time out, physically, since she was not going on her own. So she sat there and chewed on the string from her dress. I set the microwave timer and told her she could come out when the buzzer went off.

I went a few steps away to dry my hair. If I don't dry it, I look really goofy. Came out, Reagan had her hand on the Halloween truffles. She said "Can I have just one Mommy?" I asked her if she had already eaten one (of course I knew she had, there was an incriminating chocolate ring around her mouth) and she said no, she had not. I told her I would give her one more chance to tell the truth. Ok so yes she had eaten a truffle. I said ok, you can have one more. I will regret it as soon as the sugar sinks in. I took pictures last night of Reagan having a tantrum. I will post soon. They are eerily similar to a few Britney Spears pictures I have seen lately......... Diva on board?

Saturday: Cut Day

I fearlessly walked into hair salon at 8:30am Saturday morning. The hair cut picture was gripped tightly in my fingers. Once I said go, there was no turning back. Off came lots of hair all scattered on the floor like balls of fluff. I did not cry. I actually took it pretty well. The color came out nice (I did not change that.. No lowlights... I thought one change was drastic enough). It is a cute cut. Kinda like the PTA mom look which I was not going for but as it grows out, it will look more like the picture.

After that, the trip to the Ballerina birthday party in Davidson was a nightmare!!!! 77-North was shut down around exit 18 and I needed to get to exit 30. My cell phone was beeping (dead battery) and that was not good. How many calls could I get through to get alternate directions? Anyway, we got there 30 minutes late. But Reagan had blast. Pictures later. And details about the conversations with Sean on my cell phone as I was under the dryer with foils. Me breaking the news about short hair and what he said.

HUBBA BUBBA AND THINGS

I thought I was down to my last piece of Hubba Bubba. But there in my big bag of who knows what were three more pieces. I know I should not be chewing it. Waste of carbohydrates. But I have to have it. Everytime I buy five packs at the grocery store, the cashier says" Somebody likes Hubba Bubba." I just pretend it is Reagan.

So yesterday morning, Reagan started her prayer thing again in the car. She told me she was going to pray to Jesus for some rain and for me not to laugh. As if I would laugh....... She gets this determined little voice: "Dear Jesus, I really need you to make it rain so I can use the hose. Mommy's car is really dirty. So if you could make it rain, that would be good. Okay Jesus?" Then she sat there expectantly waiting for the rain to start.

Everyday Reagan looks more and more like a big girl to me. I am amazed at how fast time has flown.

WHOEVER voted for me to color my hair brown, do you want me to look like a bland mouse? Natural brown hair is pretty. Reagan has pretty brown hair with auburn streaks that reflect in the sunlight. I am not coloring my hair brown. I just cant do it. It turned really dark about five years ago when I was pregnant, hormones and such. I just looked faded. My hair is very fine and looks the same no matter how you cut it. The same, but shorter. I do not have fashionable hair that can take on the latest do. But at least I have hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was expecting the Hannah Montana Pop Star Profile from Blockbuster online (for Reagan, of course) but instead received The Hunt for the BTK Killer. Now why did I put that in the queue knowing these movies disturb me? I cannot watch any of the Saw movies without feeling really sick. Give me a comedy any day.

BITTERSWEET

Reagan as a baby(check out that curly hair!) playing the piano with Grandma Paulette and at her 1st birthday party with her now"kiss-me-my-handsome-prince" 2nd-cousin-getoverit.

Sean's Ride... I call her Christine

From the Stephen King novel. Sean is almost possessed when he drives. I received quite a few evil eyes. Two for bumping my head into the DVD player and one for trying to load a CD when one was already in. He was acting like a fussy old lady!!!

But, I kid you not, Christine took two bites out of my right arm on Sunday. Once I had loaded the car and I walked by and she reached out with her left side view mirror and swiped me. Not ten minutes later, I was getting into the front seat and something else came down and hit me on the same arm. I guess Christine did not like my feet on her dash.

She bit Sean this morning. He went to buckle Reagan and something hit him in the shin. Of course he does not believe me about Christine. It is only my imagination. We will see.
